About, money and privacy

Who we are

Badminton Racket Finder is an independent guide to badminton rackets, strings, grips and shoes, built for players in the UK first. It is run by Sam Stevens. No brand or shop owns it or pays for a place in it. Write to us at admin@badmintonracketfinder.com.

How we make money

Right now we earn nothing from this site. We plan to use affiliate links to shops: if you buy after clicking one, the shop would pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you, and those links will be marked "ad".

Commission never decides what we recommend. Rankings come only from how well a racket or shoe matches your answers and its published specs and tests, and we show every UK shop we check, cheapest first, whether it pays us or not.

Privacy

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use any analytics service. What you do here stays in your own browser:

  • Your quiz answers, compare list, watchlist, bag and coach board are saved in this browser's storage so they are there next time. Clearing your browser data removes them. Nothing is sent to us.
  • If you rate a racket, we store your scores with a random number made by your browser, so you can change your rating later. We keep a scrambled copy of your internet address for an hour to stop spam, then delete it.
  • To show shops in your own country, the website reads which country your connection comes from. We keep only a count of visits per country each month, with no cookie and nothing that identifies you; the totals are public on our visits page.
  • Fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them.
  • If you log a racket you've bought or sold, we keep the racket, price, currency, where and the month, and its condition, with a scrambled copy of your browser's random number so you can take it back. Nothing that names you.
  • When you click through to a shop, that shop's own privacy policy and cookies apply.

Prices and specs

Prices come from UK shops' own listings, checked every day; a shop may change a price after we check. Specs come from the brands first, then shops and independent tests. If something is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
