Tantrum 500 III International is a performance 3U (about 87 g) racket in the Apacs Tantrum range with a head-heavy balance (312.5 mm) and a stiff-leaning shaft. Aimed at players who want to hit down hard and can swing it fast.
- Head-heavy balance puts extra weight behind smashes and clears
- Stiffer shaft gives a crisp, direct response on full swings
- Rated to 38 lb string tension, so it takes a tight, crisp stringbed
- Head-heavy and stiff, so it is tiring and unforgiving over a long session
- Demanding to use well: suits stronger players more than casual ones
- Specs come from retailer listings, not an independent test
